 Title: Autumn Forest Stream Flowing Water Creek Picture Description: While standing on a rock in the middle of this forest stream, I attempted to capture the stream and fall tree colors surrounding us in this mountain gorge. Notice how clear the water is which is made possible with a circular polarized lens filter. It is certainly a blessing to be able to stand in the middle of all these wonderful flowers and capture them in a photo. It is actually raining this evening after work and I have a plastic rain coat on my camera as the wind and rain is blowing. Yet there are moments when all is calm and I can capture a few quick shots. The colors are vibrant in this colorful late autumn scene at a local lake. It is quiet and peaceful as I survey the landscape for scenery to frame and capture. One thing I try for with a scene like this is to wait until the water is calm to give a peaceful reflection of the colorful foliage. The peace and serenity of this place is beautiful. We simply love the fall colors, combined with the sights and sounds autumn. Early in the morning from one of the highest peaks this picture was taken in subdued sunlight thanks to the overcast clouds. This reminded me of our the song AMERICA - "O beautiful for spacious skies,: For amber waves of grain,: For purple mountain majesties: Above the fruited plain! America! America! The early morning light gives an opportune moment for us to capture a few shots of this wonderful scenic Blue Ridge Mountain View. This is the northland loop trail in Dolly Sods Wilderness. Here wildflowers abound throughout the trail with the fragrance of fresh pure heavenly perfume in the air. The rocks that line this spring mountain trail add a touch of ruggedness to the beautiful landscape. This area reminds me of a path that Adam would walk with the Lord in the Cool of the day. The grist mill at Babcock state park, West Virginia is a type of tribute to all of the grist mills, which used to thrive in the old days. Unlike many grist mill landmarks, this one actually grinds and it is possible for park visitors to actually purchase cornmeal as well as buckwheat. These animals are really amazingly playful but one should not forget that they are carnivores and this one in particular is about 40 inches long. They certainly would have large teeth, though not aggressive. The serene early morning sights and sounds set the mood and lighting for perfect nature photography. There is a small duck in the water swimming this direction but cannot be seen in this photograph. The falls are another 3/4 mile past the open swimming area and are very secluded. One must walk through a tunnel of mountain laurel to find these beautiful waterfalls. The polarized lens filter allows for the rocks to show from under the water and makes the image more interesting. This is one of my favorite pictures as it has many areas of interest. The sky displays heavenly clouds, the barns and farm buildings add an area of wonder and intrigue, while the flowers and field give a feeling of peace and comfort. In 2004 Troy and Rusty Lilly (4 years old at the time) began hiking in the Monongahela National Forest in West Virginia. While walking home from work one day singing the song "How Great Thou Art" the second verse from the song spoke to Troy's heart as he sang "When through the Woods and Forest Glades I Wander". Then the name for ForestWander Nature Photography was penned. Troy became a born again Christian in 2004 and now has dedicated many years to sharing the Gospel message through God's creation in computer desktop wallpaper pictures. The scripture from Psalm 19 tells that "The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork. Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge".
